Personal Profile

I am an expert of the Japanese techniques of textile design and dying, such as Yuzen, Katazome (stencil), Kinsai (Gold leaf), and Kusakizome.

Along with these techniques and traditional Kimono themes like the four seasons, musical instruments, and hand fans, I designed and created a new style of Kimono, Obi, dresses, shawls and scarves to fit modern sensibilities for private clients, magazines and TV commercials. In France, I presented stage costumes for a dance company.

My expertise extends to abstract paintings with antique Kimono fabrics. In these paintings, I emulated the stable luster and the beauty of natural light on Japanese silk employing a dynamic abstract design. In recent 10 to 15 years, I participated annual meetings of the decorative art salon in Paris (2010), Seattle (2014), Lecce (Italy 2015), Saint Petersburg (Russia 2016), New York (2017), Leeuwarden (Netherlands 2018), Chamonix (France 2019), and San Francisco (2023).

My works and private collections are appreciated both domestically and internationally, including France, Sweden, Netherland and India.
